Marisa was at home taking her little "break". She managed to steal Ollie back and was sitting on the couch reading. She was in non school attire her hair was somewhat curly but straighter than usual. She was wearing jeans and a quarter sleeved black shirt. She looked down at Ollie. She sighed and then a smile crept onto her face. She got up as she checked the time. "Ollie I'm going to make dinner." She said to the child. He looked up and smiled back at her.
She walked into the kitchen and she heard the doorbell ring. She ran out but before she could Oliver already answered it. "Ollie I told you to never to open the door." She said strictly before she saw who it was. She gasped. "Ollie could you go into the kitchen and wait for me. I'll be out in a second." She said as she kissed his head and turned her attention to the person.

Standing at the door Steve mumbled words under his breath. “Um Hey I was just in the neighbourhood and I just thought I’d check up…wait what? We don’t even talk anymore and I’m checking up on her! Hell no!” He said and then fixed his coat before ringing the doorbell. Trailing a hand through his short hair, Steve patiently waited for Marisa to open the door or if she would open the door to him anyway. Once the door opened almost immediately Steve stood up straight and then was a bit taken back when a young boy answered the door. Finally regaining his composure, Steve smiled the boy “Hey…Oliver, I presume, Is your mother there?” He asked.
It wasn’t long before Marisa came to the door and he really was surprised by her reaction nor could he blame her for being shocked at his appearance, she probably thought he was here to attack her or something. Attempting to smile at her Steve tried to find words to say before the only word that could escape his lips was “Hey.” That was it nothing more or nothing less it was as simple as that.

She stood up straight and looked at him. "Hmmmm didn't do anything to Ollie." She stated as she watched him run off into the kitchen. "Want to come in?" She asked as she forced a smile. "Sorry bout' that Olli likes to open the door because he thinks he's a big boy but he's not." She said with a laugh.
"Mommy!!!!!." Oliver shouted. "I'm hungry." He said as loud as he could. "He's loud if you don't mind." She said with a smile.

Hearing Marisa first statement made Steve curious and he wanted to ask what she meant by that. Did she think he was going to hurt the kid or something? Not bother to look into it Steve remained standing there in front of her until she invited him in. Still smiling he nodded “Sure, if you don’t mind.” He said softly and took a step into her house “It’s absolutely fine.” Steve said also letting out a small laugh.
Hearing the young boy shout caused Steve to raise and eyebrow at Marisa “Looks like you’re needed.” He said, “In the kitchen.” Steve added with an amused grin and shook his head “It’s fine reminds me of my own house!” Steve told her still in amusement.

She smiled. "How long are you staying?" She asked as she led him into the kitchen and made a silly face at Ollie as he laughed. At home Steve would see a more motherly side of Marisa that nobody at Hogwarts saw. She turned her attention towards Steve. "Please excuse the attire I can't get down on the floor in a pencil skirt that well." She said as she patted Ollie's head.

Hearing the question Steve shrugged "Whenever. Feel free to kick me out anytime you want. I wasn't planning on staying long though because...well, i'm an unexpected guest and i really didn't want to be in the way or anything." He told her truthfully as he followed her into the kitchen and grinned at the faces she was making towards her son who found them amusing. "So you finally got him back then?" Steve whispered in Marisa's ear as oliver wasn't paying much attention. Steve was rather glad Marisa got her son back, she was just so depressed since Aaron took him and now that she got him back Steve noticed how much happier and brighter she had become. "Oh no it's fine. You can't always expect to be running around in a skirt when you've got a kid."

She turned and looked at him. "Yes I demanded him from his nanny and she was so scared she gave him back." She said quietly. "Hey Ollie come here." She said with a smile as Ollie jumped out of his seat and ran over to his smiling mother.
"Yes." Ollie said with a shy smile as he looked at Steve. "Ollie this is Steve Higgs he's one of the teachers at school I work with." She said in Ollie's ear. "Hi Mr. Higgs." Oliver said very quietly. After that he ran back to his seat and looked at Steve from there. She walked over to her son and whispered something in his ear and Ollie nodded.
Oliver stood up and walked over to Steve and whispered: "Mommy is a bad cook and she ends up burning things." He said with a laugh. "Hey I heard that." Marisa said to Ollie as she walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "That's not what I said."

Steve smirked “That’s the way to do it!” He said in encouragement still smirking, he never knew Marisa had it in her. Turning his head to the side he watched the young boy jump out of his seat and ran straight towards Marisa. Now that was how he imagined his family and child but he himself doubted any of that would ever come true.
Steve smiled at the boy as Marisa introduced him. “Hello Oliver!” He said politely and gave him a small nod and smile. “He’s a good kid.” Steve said to the woman who approached her son and whispered something in his ear which Steve was eager to hear. Leaning forward slightly he tried to hear but all he heard was small mummers and then after a few seconds he finally gave up with a soft sigh.
Keeping his eyes on Oliver as he made his way towards him, Steve noticed that he wanted to whisper something, so crouching down he let the boy begin to talk. Laughing at his words Steve was just going to reply when Marisa jumped in which caused Steve to let out another small laugh. “And what did you say?” He asked curiously while moving back into standing position.

"I told him to ask you if you were good at cooking since as he told you I burn everything." She said with a laugh as she ruffled her son's hair. She bent down to Oliver and pecked his cheek. "Now can you go set the table while mommy cooks?" She asked with a smile.
She watched him as he got the plates. She turned her attention towards Steve. "Are you any good at cooking?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. Everything was peaceful until she heard a crash and she whipped her head around to see Oliver staring at a plate that was now shattered.
She ran over and picked Ollie up. "Don't go over there I don't want you to get hurt." She said as she got a broom and cleaned it up. "Sorry about that he tends to drop things." She said with a laugh.

Smiling Steve nodded now understanding. Thinking about the question he looked down at the ground remembering when he actually did cook the compliments he got but of course most of the compliments where from his family because he only cooked for them when he or they where visiting.
Also watching Oliver for a moment as he went to get the plates, Steve then turned his attention back to Marisa “Well, As far as people have told me, I am a good cook. Do you need any help?” He asked her also raising an eyebrow and he then smiled but it quickly dropped when he heard the shattering noise. Whipping his head in the direction of Oliver, Steve saw the shattered plate.
Not giving it second thought, Steve hurried over to Oliver and kneeled down beside him “Are you alright?” He asked the boy and examined him to check for any cuts or scrapes but he could see none, “He’s not the only one.” Steve pointed out with a smile.

She smiled at his reaction he was great with children. "Yes if you would be willing its not like I'll force you." She said with a laugh. "You OK Oliver?" She asked him as she saw his frightened face nod. "It's OK I'm not going to ground you or anything accidents happen." She said with a smile as she pick him up off the table.
"Cause' if you are going to stay you might not want burned chicken." She said with a laugh. She was terrible at cooking.

Smirking Steve gave a small shrug and then nodded “Sure. I’ll be happy to help! But I haven’t cooked in awhile though I’m sure it’ll come back to me.” He told her while standing up and dusting himself off out of habit. Running a hand through his hair, Steve kept his eyes on Marisa and Oliver with a small grin on his face.
“You’re right. Burned chicken isn’t particularly my favourite. My mother’s made that a few times and it’s one of the reasons why I learned how to cook!” Steve admitted with a chuckled.

She laughed. "Hey Ollie why don't you um get some toys to play with out here while Steve and I cook." She suggested to her son and smiled as he ran out to get some toys and tripped coming back in but got up immediately and giggled.
She started to get the stuff out and her cheeks lit up in embarrassment as she watched Steve do most of the cooking. She was perfectly fine until there hands touched and she looked up at him.

Steve nodded in agreement to Marisa’s idea as she asked her son to go play with his toys. It was defiantly best for him to play with things that had a less chance of hurting him or something he couldn't break just for his own safety.
Beginning to prepare the meal, Steve felt quite content and wasn’t really bothered by the silence between them because he was too busy concentrating on the food. Not really paying much attention, Steve moved his hand to reach out for the butter when his hand landed on Marisa. Turning his gaze to their hands Steve moved his hand away slowly and looked up at her with a small smile “Sorry.”

She looked at him. "It's OK." She said softly as she continued cooking. When everything was in the oven she looked at Steve. "OK everything is in the oven now I'm going to go out with Oliver and you can sorta you know explore or I can take you on a tour or or or you can sit out with Oliver and I." She said with a faint laugh.
She waited for his answer with a patient smile.
