Faith was sitting on one of the benches of the courtyard. Her hair was straight and she was smiling as she read her favorite book Pride and Prejudice. Her her eyes were extra twinkly today. She had a short sleeved blue top on, a pair of jeans and boots that she tucked her jeans into.
She was laughing thinking about what her mother said to her yesterday and as she looked up from her book she saw someone. "Whoa." She shouted in surprise. "You scared me."

Digging his hands into his pockets, Steve slowly walked around the courtyard. Sitting in his classroom wasn't really helping so he decided to have a look around. He felt like he was only new here but attending the school and teaching at it for years, the feeling of being knew didn't last very long. Running a hand through his short hair, Steve let out and sigh as he glared at the passing students who started intently at him.
Finally stooping for a few moments, Steve listened to the silence until a small laugh filled the air. Turning his head to the side he noticed a gryffindor girl and stared at her strangely, was she laughing at herself?. As he continued to look at her she looked up at jumped. Steve didn't say nothing and looked at the ground with a small shake of his head. "Good afternoon Miss Benedict." he greeted her with no expression.

"Oh Hey Professor." She said with a smile. It wasn't anything new her being smiley and all. That was her personality so she found no fault in being optimistic to the professor. "Sorry you just sorta scared me." She said with a grin. She wandered if he was annoyed usually she annoys professors except of course her aunt. They were 2 peas in a pod.

Steve knew this girl, he taught this girl. She was a very bright girl it was almost sickening but surprisingly he always enjoyed seeing a smile on someone's face at least. "I think i should be the one apologizing. I'm very sorry i frightened you." Steve said keeping the same tone of voice.

"That's OK. I guess I'm easily frightened." She laughed. She kept on smiling. Professor Higgs was a good professor but he was too serious sometimes. She looked at his emotionless expression. Her aunt probably doesn't get along with him. "I was just out here reading." She said looking down at her book. Darn she forgot her spot.

The corners of his moth turned as he looked down at the book, "What's the book you are reading?" Steve asked her still digging his hands into his pockets. Watching her look down at her book, Steve looked at his surroundings before taking a long breath in and then letting it out again. Steve was rather curious if he would see Rachel around, she probably remembered her way around the school with in a few seconds.

"Pride and Prejudice. It is my absolute favorite book. I cry every time I read it. You might not know it but it is very popular amongst the muggles." She said with a bubbly voice. "Are you related to that new professor Rachel?" She asked it was a question that has been bugging her ever since she came to teach which wasn't too longg ago but she had terrible patience.

Steve gave a small laugh a nodded his head, "Yes, I've heard about it." He told her remembering Lisa constantly read the book, she was a muggleborn though. Steve didn't fail to notice that Miss Benedict was a very straight forward person, "Yes, she is my sister." Steve informed her. Rachel would probably till be over in America if Steve didn't get her the position of Muggle Studies at Hogwarts.

"I knew it." She said. It sorta slipped out. She covered her mouth. "Oops. I can't control what I say. It just slips." She said. "Well my mom is in love with it. She made me read and I tried so hard to find fault in it but I really couldn't. You see I hate my mother." She said 'I hate my mother' softly.

Smirking Steve raised both eyebrows at Faith. "And how did you know that? You just presumed that she was my sister? She could've just had the same surname as me!" He suggested with a shrug. Looking at the young girl curiously, Steve felt the need to ask her a question, "Why do you hate your mother?" He asked her softly.

"Long story!" She said with a smile. "But I guess I could say it. It started when I was 6 or 7. She was in love with clay and so into her art. Now that I think of it she has never hugged me. She ignored me for most of my life. Then when I was 8 she had my brother. She would shower him with love it was sorta sickening." She sighed. She of course wasn't upset. "Well then at the age of 9 I got this really special solo part at school and she never showed. I came home with my dad in tears and went down to 'the studio' and saw her working on a bowl. I got angry and that's when I started showing signs. I yelled and cried and at the same time her favorite bowl she made was on the ground completely broken." She laughed when she said that. "I remember wanting to break right there and then."

Steve listened to her with wide eyes, "Wow!" he said once she finished. Talk about a tough past. Not to boost or anything but Steve and his family had a pretty spectacular life, they got almost everything what they wanted and had loving parents who of course where very powerful people in the wizarding world and in that case very rich.

"Yeah tell me about it. She was a control freak." She said with wide eyes. "My family is also very strict." She said with a frown. She started to move her feet a little. She hated sitting forever. "So you probably had an awesome childhood. I mean your so put together. This whole happy optimistic thing is just an act so I don't get depressed." She said. "But don't go thinking it was all bad. My Aunt who I found out a week ago is also a wizard. Was like a mom to me. She's a professor here." She said with a smile.

Laughing softly "So put together? I wish!" Steve blurted out and then closed his lips again. "Don't be fooled by appearances. yes, i did have quite a good childhood but my father was very strict, only to me though. Never to Rachel." He admitted to Faith with a small smile. "Well i guess that must be good. When i was a student here I'd probably do anything to have a relation as a teacher, it would probably mean i wouldn't have to work that hard." Steve told her with a smile.

"No way. She makes me work as hard as any other student." Faith said with a laugh. "Professor Stuart. That's who she is. She is the nicest person ever! She is really funny and an awesome friend. She is so trustworthy and understanding." She said with a large smile. "I'm sure you've met her."
